Overview
Emergency care is provided by third- and fourth-year dental students under the supervision of licensed faculty dentists.
Services Provided
First Floor Emergency Dental Clinic
The Emergency Dental Clinic is for patients who are experiencing:
- moderate-to-severe pain that is not relieved by taking pain medications
- oral bleeding
- facial/oral swelling
Services to treat these dental conditions include tooth extraction and root canals.
The Emergency Dental Clinic does not provide fillings/crowns, denture repairs, cleanings, or general wisdom teeth (third molar) extractions. Anyone needing these services should become a patient of one of our college clinics. IV-sedation is not available as a walk-in treatment option.

Fees
The average estimated cost for treatment in the First Floor Emergency (non-referral patients) is $231 to $450, depending on the services performed (fees may change without notice).

When the dental clinics are closed, those experiencing dental emergencies involving swelling of the face or neck or breathing difficulty should go to the Emergency Department at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
